Randall Cunningham's young son dies in tragic accident!!!

Terrible news for former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham and his family — Cunningham's 2-year-old son Christian drowned Tuesday afternoon in a hot tub in the backyard of Cunningham's Nevada home. Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Dennis Flynn has been quoted as saying that it was an accident. According to initial reports, Cunningham was not at home Tuesday afternoon when the child was found, and that an unnamed woman tried to resuscitate the child after finding him at about 4:30 p.m. She called 911 at 4:45, and the child was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus, where he passed away.

Cunningham, 47, is an ordained minister in Las Vegas. According to a family friend who talked with ABC News, when the news broke, about 100 people came to the Cunningham home to sing, pray, and grieve with the family. Cunningham is the pastor of a church he founded called Remnant Ministries. He has performed baptisms in that same hot tub, according to reports. From ABC:

"We were there for support," said [a] church member, who asked not to be identified by name. "It's about being a church family and supporting the family ... I just can't imagine going through a tragedy like this without having a church family there for you."

The family friend also described Christian Cunningham to an ABC News reporter.

"He was always active and running around, smiling and giving everybody hugs and jumping on their laps. He was so full of life. He was not only the Cunningham child, he was also the church's child. He trusted everybody."

Police spokespeople have told news sources that there is an open investigation into the child's death, though no foul play or neglect is assumed. It appears to be a horrible, random accident.

More friends and family will gather at Cunningham's church Thursday to show support.

Cunningham, who passed for 29,979 yards and 207 touchdowns in his 16-year NFL career from 1985 to 2001, made four Pro Bowls and is considered the prototype of the modern mobile quarterback. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens. He took his son onto the field last year (pictured above) when he was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame at a halftime ceremony.

Cunningham and his wife, Felicity, have three other children: Randall II, Vashti and Grace.

Steve Smith broke his arm, but how?

Here's what we know about the injury to Carolina Panthers receiver Steve Smith: Over the weekend, as first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Smith broke his left arm in a flag football game. It was the same arm that Smith broke last December, though not in the same place. Last time, it was his forearm.

Schefter's report, in which Smith's injury was disclosed by his agent, specified that Smith suffered the injury in a flag football game that took place during a camp he runs for kids. However, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk now reports that from what he's heard, Smith actually broke his arm in the championship game of an adult flag tournament in which Smith has been a longtime participant.

The difference could be significant if Smith's contract has language prohibiting other specific kinds of athletic activities – it's not uncommon for big-ticket contracts to have language prohibiting player participation in risky athletic endeavors. If Smith had a waiver for his football camp, that might be a reason to float a different story out there. We're not saying that's what happened, but if it did, that would be a possibility.

In late April, Denver Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady tore his patellar tendon in a pickup basketball game and will miss an indeterminate amount of time as he recovers. That's just bad luck; one can only imagine the kinds of tantrums we'd see out of Denver coach Josh McDaniels had Clady been injured in a flag football game. The Carolina brass are more measured in its reactions, but it probably wouldn't be too happy if it went down this way. Stay tuned for more on that part of the story.

Initial reports have Smith undergoing surgery Sunday night and possibly being ready for the start of the regular season. If that's the case, the Panthers need to get a bead on who's going to catch passes from Matt Moore(notes) or Jimmy Clausen(notes) alongside Smith, so there are more opportunities for Dwayne Jarrett(notes), Armanti Edwards(notes) and Brandon LaFell(notes) (as well as the rest of Carolina's relatively anonymous receiver corps) to shine and gain playing time; Edwards is one to watch. The 31-year-old Smith, who led the team with 65 catches for 982 yards and seven touchdowns in 2009, has said that he wants to see another Panthers receiver step up and challenge him for reps and catches. Now, for better or worse, is the time for that to happen.

Redskins to Haynesworth: We'd like our money back, please!!!

The Washington Redskins have just about it had it with Albert Haynesworth's(notes) unhappy dance, and now they're firing back. According to the AP, their plan of attack is to recover some or all of the $21 million they gave him in bonus money last year.

The Redskins are going to see if they can recoup all or part of a $21 million bonus from the disgruntled two-time All Pro defensive tackle, an official within the league with knowledge of the deliberations told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The team decided to take the action after Haynesworth failed to report for a mandatory two-day minicamp.

Haynesworth, as you know, is upset because the Redskins want him to play in a 3-4 defense, as opposed to the 4-3 Albert prefers.

Haynesworth's contention is that the Redskins promised him he'd be playing in a 4-3, and he never would've signed there if he knew his role would be as a 3-4 player. Unless he specifically got that written into his contract, though, I don't think it matters. The Redskins signed him to play football.

So play football, Big Al.

Whenever possible, I try to side with the player in NFL athlete vs. management controversies. I feel like the current collective bargaining agreement is slanted very much in favor of the owners, and players generally get the short end of the stick.

Haynesworth is making that stance difficult, though. He's not a young guy who's outperformed his contract, and he's not someone who isn't going to get the payday he deserves. He just signed with the Redskins a year ago for $100 million.

I don't care if they ask you to return punts on the scout team or clip Rex Grossman's(notes) toenails. You took the money. Now you do what they ask you to do, which, by the way, is not unreasonable.

Unless you're willing to give the money back, in which case I'm sure the Redskins would be happy to release you, and you can go see if someone else will give you $100 million. Heads-up, though: Only one Dan Snyder exists.

Rams' Barron headed to Dallas

St. Louis Rams restricted free agent left tackle Alex Barron(notes) should start packing his bags because he's headed to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for linebacker Bobby Carpenter(notes), according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Barron just needs to sign his tender and both players need to pass physicals in order for the deal to take place. It is believed the whole thing will be finalized on Monday.

Cuban: Nowitzki not leaving Mavericks

Dirk Nowitzki(notes) can opt out of his contract this summer and join the teeming masses of talented NBA players that will be wandering America's streets looking for new, highly lucrative deals.

But Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, never one to shy away from expressing his opinion, says that he thinks Nowitzki is going to stick around for next season, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Cuban apparently spent some time with Nowitzki and some other players this past weekend so you figure he must have some idea what he's talking about.

"We had a good talk," Cuban told the paper. "He knows our priority is to keep him and win a championship, which is his goal as well. I'm optimistic things will work out."

Bosh gives signs he's leaving Toronto

Chris Bosh(notes) will be one of the big-name free agents available on July 1 and unlike Dwyane Wade(notes) and LeBron James(notes), it is fully expected that he won't be re-signing with the Toronto Raptors.

According to the Toronto Star, Bosh has been giving off a lot of signs recently that he's soon to be history in Toronto. He apparently made some changes on his Twitter account, eliminating Toronto as his location and making it "Everywhere." And he took off a part in his biography that identified him as the captain of the Raptors.

Plus, he was sitting courtside in Southern California Tuesday night for the Los Angeles Lakers-Utah Jazz playoff standoff and tweeted, "Sitting here watching the games wishing I was playing. I wonder if that MVP trophy is heavy?"

Pacman deal coming today?

The Cincinnati Bengals is doing everything it can to get the man they call Pacman, Adam Jones(notes), signed to its roster but a few things still needed to be worked out as of last night, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The two sides apparently spent the day yesterday trying to hammer out actually how the deal would be structured. The main sticking point was supposedly what the incentive-based bonuses and the personal-conduct clause would say in the contract.

A final decision on whether the team can work out a deal for the cornerback is supposedly expected today.

Dwyane Wade: 'Foreplay' Lawsuit Is Total BS

Dwyane Wade claims he's "saddened" and "shocked" by a new lawsuit filed by his estranged wife -- in which she claims the NBA star is damaging their children by engaging in "sexual foreplay" with his new girlfriend in public.



The woman behind the lawsuit is Siohvaughn Wade -- the mother of Dwyane's two sons. Siohvaughn just filed a new lawsuit, on behalf of the two minor children (an 8-year-old and a 2-year-old) -- claiming Wade has engaged in "extreme and outrageous conduct" with his new GF Gabrielle Union in front of Wade's two children.

But Wade tells TMZ, "I am shocked that Siohvaughn Wade has brought this baseless and meritless lawsuit in the name of our children against Gabrielle Union."

Wade adds, "I am deeply saddened and disappointed that Siohvaughn has used our sons once again as pawns and is now lashing out at Gabrielle, who is an innocent party. It is clear that this is a desperate attempt to retaliate against me for seeking sole custody of our children and requesting that the court have her undergo a psychiatric examination."

Wade concludes, "My primary concern is my children and actions such as this only inflame the situation and are harmful to their well being.”

UPDATE: TMZ just spoke with a rep for Gabrielle Union who also rejects Siohvaughn's claims -- and apologizes to the court system for having to deal "with erroneous claims when there are real victims who should be receiving the legal attention they need."

WTF?? Rape? A Minor? LT you can not be serious???

If this does not sound like a scene from the movie "Taken". Mike Tyson, "Big" Ben Roethlisberger, now Lawrence Taylor. The man who authorities say set up football star Lawrence Taylor with a 16-year-old runaway has been charged with sex trafficking of a child.

Rasheed Davis was charged in a criminal complaint filed Friday in Manhattan federal court.

The complaint referred to the 51-year-old Taylor as “Client-1.” It said he told police officers in Ramapo, N.Y., that he engaged in sex acts with a woman in a hotel room Wednesday before paying her $300 in cash. You mean to tell me a rich Hall of Famer has to pay $300 for sex, that does not sound right. It said “Client-1” told them he took a car service from Newark, N.J., to the hotel.

Taylor was charged Thursday with third-degree rape and patronizing a prostitute. His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, has denied the charges, saying Taylor did not have sex with the girl and did not rape her.

Instead of Any Giving Sunday Look like there will be Any Giving Everyday for Taylor who is looking at massive jail time for this case!! Keep your head up bro!! A damn shame if you ask me!!

"3 Seasons and Bust" Russell Done In Oakland!!

Former top overall pick in the 2007 draft has been released from the Oakland Raiders that lead to the debate of who is the biggest bust in NFL history. Personally I believe it is Russell!!! This guy had all the opportunities to become a decent star in the league and never capitalized. Lets not get started on the money, paying for $39 for a player that never prospered will be a hard one for Al Davis to swallow, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

The bust list includes: Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Andre Ware, David Carr and so on. With the news of this release Russell has climb top rank to this list.

Two weeks after acquiring quarterback Jason Campbell from Washington, the Raiders released Russell. At 24, his NFL career is at a crossroads, and whether he’ll even get an offer from another club is problematic.

Russell won only seven of his 25 starts as the Raiders extended an NFL-worst streak to seven straight seasons with at least 11 losses. He completed just 52.1 percent of his passes in his career with 18 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, 15 lost fumbles and a passer rating of 65.2.

That means Russell has been paid more than $5 million per win, more than $2 million per touchdown pass and more than $100,000 per completion.

The best thing for Russell is to hope they bring the Arena League back into play because he was pure garbage on the real field. He may see a second chance with the Lions or Rams; a team that has no problem with any risk, but his days as a NFL starter is over. "DUECE IS THAT YOU??" FIGHTING WITH A COLLEGE KID!!!

According to MediaTakeOut.com just learned that former New Orleans Saints starting running back Deuce Mcallister got into some kinda Rumble in the jungle last night.

Here is what popped off, according to one of MediaTakeOut.com spies. Duece was at a Mississippi club being hosted by a local DJ. At some point in the night, the DJ began arguing with a female clubber.

Then, Deuce runs up on dude, gives him a quick TWO PIECE & a biscuit and takes his mic from him. After that happened, all HECK broke loose. Duece's boys started fighting with the DJs . . . and a riot nearly popped off. Police had to come by and restore order.
